Born in Santa Barbara, California, John is a self-taught painter who has excelled in many styles, but is best known for his realistic work and sometimes-allegorical images. In fact, his largest body of work can be found in Hawaii on the island of Lanai where it embellishes the Four Seasons Resort Lanai at Manele Bay and the award winning Lodge at Koele.
Following his assignment as artist-in-residence at Villa H.R.H. in the Kingdom of Tonga, he completed a large number of major installations across the country that were commissioned by David Murdock for Castle & Cooke resorts and country clubs. The new Dole World Headquarters in Westlake California serves as a showcase for 14 of his murals that include the towering "Dole Diptych" in the atrium lobby.
An international artist with a global presence, his paintings can be found in trophy hotels, public buildings and in private collections.
Currently John is creating a studio and gallery on an historic cattle ranch in Santa Barbara.
